To Just Forget
To Just Forget
Thoughts as heavy as a stone
Bend my heart and make it groan;
Cause my past echoes to moan
‘Till I ache in every bone:
Ache to just forget.
Sadness deeper than the Sea
Has manifested in me.
Tides all laced with the salty
Tears I cry to just be free:
Cry to just forget.
Darkness shadows every thought
Showing how my will is not
Selfless as I know it ought
To be. I wish I were naught:
Wish to just forget.
Just forget: this my desire
Will not free my heart to tire;
Lends my soul its final fire:
Lay me down upon the pyre
That I may forget.
