I Feel
I Feel
This all-possessing Misery
Where agony and apathy
Are bitter foes,
And in their throes
I feel the vain insanity.
A war is waged ‘twixt heart and mind
Recalling ghosts long left behind.
They scream my name
Bring back the shame.
I feel the pain which makes me blind.
No tears can wash away this gall
Which burns my heart. Nor any call
With words of hope
Could loose this rope.
I feel the rage and curse it all.
But more profound, like ocean tide,
Grief thunders and rage is defied.
Sins battle sins
Yet neither wins.
I feel the hate which should have died.
So drown ‘neath grief and agony
Or learn to shed humanity
And all its darts.
Our shattered hearts.
I feel – this is my Misery.
