A Monster Naméd Me
A Monster Naméd Me
A monster naméd Me,
Alas, how can it be?
That I exist
In such a fit
Of fay brutality?
A monster naméd Me,
I wish I could be free
From such a beast
And all it’s feast
Of cruel insanity.
A monster naméd Me
The mindless vanity
So proud I am
That nothing can
Save from monstrosity.
A monster named Me
I try a friend to be
And touching souls
My claws rip holes;
I am the Enemy.
A monster naméd Me
I cry and rise to flee
From this black “I” –
I’d rather die
Than be the monstrous Me.
