Dear Weary, Aching Heart
Dear Weary, Aching Heart
Dear
weary, aching heart of mine,
You wish that you could turn back
time,
But time is not your realm to sway;
You came to earth to
live today.
And yesterday – though somewhat sweet –
Is but
the echo of your feet
Climbing the hill of Then to Now;
And
even when you wonder how
You’ll mount new hills to Now from
Then:
You’ve won – so simply win again.
So
simple – yes! – to walk on. Yet
The hardest deed: to take a
step.
For one step on leaves steps behind
And the Unknown is
all you find.
You fear to meet the very strange,
Wild world out
there, for you know change
Awaits you, which you will resist
Even
though you know change is best.
This loss, that gain, are not in
vain,
For rainbows always starts with rain.
Dear
striving heart, the hill is sure
If you will climb and make it
yours.

This feels like an inspirational poem that would go fantastically on a vision board!! The first stanza was spot on, and the line, "This loss, that gain, are not in vain,
ReplyDeleteFor rainbows always starts with rain," is epic :D
