To Be Made Whole
The goal in life is not to win,
And failure not the foe.
To lose the fight is not a sin
To learn that you don't know.
But rather in each time you fall
To learn the how and why,
And understanding rise 'gain tall
And give another try.
For what you are is what you do,
And whether you win or lose:
Should you give up or start anew?
It's yours alone to choose.
None in life are truly defined
By their material gain.
But rather if their star has shined
As bright in ease as pain.
So through each trial and failure storm
Trust that your path is set
To scour away the good and form
A better person yet.
You are not meant to win the fight;
You are not meant to succeed
But rather give all to He whose might
Shall supply your every need.
By every storm and rugged way
Though night be dark and grim
His is to purge and wash away
So you'll look more like Him.
So take this message now to heart:
To win is not the goal.
Dear child, by loss you're torn apart
So that you may be whole.
