This I Know
This
I Know
This
I know – my faith is strong and
Though
I fear, I’m not alone.
This
I know – the sword in my hand
Is
greater than I can own.
This
I know – the battle will be
Won,
and I will quit the field.
This
I know – though I fight, not me
But
my God, this sword will wield.
This
I know – that my Commander
Is
worthy of all my trust.
This
I know – I’ll ne’er surrender
‘Till
my body’s turned to dust.
This
I know – the war I’m fighting
Holds
no glory for my name.
This
I know – while I’m abiding
In
my God, there is no shame.
This
I know – the end is coming
And
when here, I will be free.
This
I know – the day is dawning
With
a promised Rest for me.
This
I know – though I am weary
My
God holds my arm up high.
This
I know – my great Enemy
Can
never make my soul die.
This
I know – that midst the battle
There’ll
be time to pray and sing.
This
I know – that though I struggle
To
believe, my God will win.
This
I know – I have a Brother
Who
knows my pain and feels my cross
This
I know – the war’s not over
‘Till
He’s won and purged my dross.
This
I know – my soul may falter
And
my steps recede in fear,
But
this I know – I’m on the altar
And
my God is with me here.
